William Redman (also spelt as Redmayne; c. 1510 – 1561) was the 13th great-grandfather, classified as one of Cometan’s distant paternal ancestors in the McKerney family line. Born in Thornton-in-Lonsdale, Ingleton, William was the son of James Redman (1480 – 1525) and Margaret Cowen (1480 – 1584) and the father of Anne Redmayne. William is recorded as having been buried at St Oswald’s Church Cemetery in Thornton-in-Lonsdale.
