Western Cosmism is an appellation sometimes ascribed to Astronism that first gained popularity during The Year of Manifestation and has since seen consistent usage. It denotes Astronism as the Western world’s version of Cosmism, a philosophical and cultural movement with origins in Russia in the 19th century.
The term Western Cosmism has been ascribed by academics and although is acknowledged as an accurate appellation attributable to Astronism by the Astronist Institution, the title itself is seldom used in official Institutional dialogue.
