Subdenance is a term of post-omnidoxical Cometanic origin that is used to refer to a catasterism, or a constellation myth, that is provided with a secondary status under another story that is associated with the same constellation, such a story is referred to as being predenant.

This tradition was initiated by Cometan and was followed by Astronist scholarship in order to organise subjects with a multitude of myths and stories associated with them.
