A starlight festival is an Astronist religious event that typically involves the projection of astronomical phenomena in the night sky as part of a major light show. Besides this, the event is also likely to include stargazing, planetarium experiences, Astronist devotional and meditative practices, astrophotography, and even music and chanting. Starlight festivals are mainly associated with the Astronist religion's two main holidays, known as Stellara and Kintana.
Starlight festivals sponsored by the Astronist Institution have been traditionally managed by its subsidiary company, The Starlight Festivals Company, although smaller and even private starlight festivals are known to have taken place.
