The scope window, or scope aperture, is the time period and collection of scope made available to humanity to become a spacefaring species before the occurrence of the Devolution, thus embarking on the endeavour of transcension. The event in which this opportunity window closes is called the Sideria.

There exists a series of views on when the scope window began, its current condition and when it will close. Many of these views intertwine with corresponding views on the nature of transcension and its attainment in addition to the nature of scope itself.
