Panentheism in Astronism plays a central role and is core to the theological foundations of Astronism. Due to the cosmocentricity of Astronism and therefore its divergence away from theocentric religions, there exists a definitive tendency towards the non-identification of God, or an indifference about the role, identity, and function of God beyond that of God's universal creativity. It is from this background that Astronist panentheism is structured because this type of understanding of God does not necessitate identity and nor does it provide a definitive and describable role for God beyond that of God's creation of existence.
