Astron

In appellatology, Astron is described as the masculine name of Astronism and this is placed in contrast with the feminine name of Kosma. This developed the notion that there are two natures to Astronism, a feminine and a masculine. It is from this appellation that the appellation astrony is derived and it is from the appellation of astrony that Astronism is derived.

Astronism

Derived from the noun 'astrony' meaning 'contemplation of the stars', the appellation of Astronism is literally understood to be the 'principles of the stars', a belief system based on space itself.

An alternative name for when describing Astronism as astronomical religion.

Astronomical faith

An alternative appellation for when describing Astronism as astronomical religion.

Astronomical religion

Astronism is often referred to as astronomical religion in order to synonymise it with the wider heritage of religions that Astronism belongs it. With this appellation, Astronism becomes astronomical religion.

Astrony

Astrony is used as an appellation for Astronism, but it is from the appellation Astron that the term astrony is derived. Astrony means to contemplate the stars. It is from astrony that the main etymological structure for Astronism is derived.

Astrony is considered the third and final part of the Astronic Triumvirate alongside astrolatry (worship of the stars) and astromancy (divination of the stars).

Astrosophy

The appellation of astrosophy is formed from the prefix astro- and the suffix -sophy. Astrosophy is considered to be a term used to distance Astronism from being considered a religion but that it should be more identified with philosophy.

Celesta

Cosmica

Cosmic belief

Astronism may be referred to as cosmic belief as an alternative term for the appellation of astronomical religion.

Cosmic faith

The cosmic faith appellation emphasises the religious aspects of Astronism and suggests that it is a system based on the notion of faith rather than reason. For this reason, this appellation has caused controversy in its usage.

Cosmicism

Cosmicism as an appellation for Astronism is derived from the "cosmic" theme of Astronism and perhaps also emphasises the cosmocentric worldview of Astronism.

Cosmic religion

Astronism is often described as a cosmic religion, most frequently in a non-academic setting. This appellation can be considered as an alternative for the "astronomical religion" appellation.

Cosmism

The appellation of cosmism for Astronism is directly derived from Astronism's worldview of cosmocentrism and is undoubtedly linked to the Astronic-related religion of Russian cosmism.

First of the inspired religions

Astronism is sometimes described as the first of the inspired religions in order to emphasise its founding of the inspired religions category as distinct from revealed religions as part of the Astronist philosophy of religion.

Grand religion

Grand religion is one of the colloquial appellations for Astronism and pertains to the huge extent of concepts and terms created as part of the founding of the religion.  

Inspired religion

Astronism has been labelled an inspired religion from its inception, particularly with it being founded on the form of revelation known as personal inspiration. The term inspired religion is often used in contrast with revealed religion having been formed on direct divine revelation while the former is formed on indirect divine revelation.

Kosma

An alternative appellation of Astronism with origins of usage in the Omnidoxy and thereafter. It can be considered as an alternative to the masculine appellation of Astron and relates to the femininity of Astronism or the feminine undertones of the religion.

Last of the world religions

This appellation is in reference to Astronism as being the final religion of The Earth before humanity's journey out into and explore and civilisation of space (known in Astronism as the event of The Peregrination).

Last of the major religions

Reference to Astronism as the last of the major religions is a controversial colloquial appellation for the religion. It involves the notion that Astronism, as a representative of all astronomical religions, is worthy of being categorised alongside Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism and Hinduism as one of the Big Six. Not only this, but the appellation implies that Astronism is the final major religion to conclude all religions which denotes further controversy associated with the name. 

Milletticism

Derived from the original appellation for Astronism, Millettism and can be considered as an alternative of that original appellation.

Millettism

Before the appellation of Astronism took hold and the development of the identity of Astronism distinguished itself from Millettarian culture and literature, the appellation Millettism was originally used to refer to the philosophy.

Neocosmism

Neocosmism is a popular appellation for Astronism used both in academic spheres and in colloquial dialogue. It is most commonly used to emphasise Astronism as influenced by or even consequential of Russian cosmism and although such a linkage is no favourable to Institutional Astronism, in the chronology of the Astronic tradition, Russian cosmism does precede Astronism in the 19th to 20th centuries. Despite this, it remains unknown as to the extent to which Russian cosmism held an influence over the initial development of Astronism by Cometan.

Religion of a thousand names

Religion of a thousand names is a colloquial appellation for Astronism pertaining to the supposed notion that Astronism has a thousand names which involves its state of multifaricity. 

Religion of the Astra

The appellation of the religion of the Astra is derived from the role of the concept of the Astra in Astronism, but application of this appellation is not as popular due to it causing confusion between the Cult of Astra and its distinction from that of Astronism.

Revivalist religion / Revival religion

The use of the appellation of revivalist or revival religion for Astronism relates to its functionality and purpose as the reviver of astronomical religions and especially focuses on and emphasises this aspect of the destiny and meaning of Astronism and why it was formed.

Sophism

The use of the appellation Sophism for Astronism can be considered as another attempt to further associate Astronism with philosophy and especially away from the notion of Astronism being just a religion. The use of the appellation of Sophism finds its origins in the Omnidoxy.

The Philosophy of Millettism

An important appellation for Astronism is found in The Philosophy of Millettism. This appellation is derived from the original appellation of Astronism, Millettism, as a subsequence of the Millettarian culture and literature that Cometan first developed. This particular appellation developed as another emphasis of Astronism as not merely just a religion, but a philosophy foremost. Now, The Philosophy of Millettism still sees regular usage in an official capacity as it is used in legal and official documents for it is include in the official name for the proprietor of Astronism, known as The Institution of The Philosophy of Millettism.
