The historiography of the Astronic tradition is the study and methodising of how the history of the Astronic tradition should best be presented and written.
Cometan understood the Astronic tradition according to two variables:
- by religious system
- by historical events
The first of these variables explores the history of the Astronic tradition according to when certain religious systems were founded or when they are known to have been most prevalently practiced. This birthed the ages known as Prehistoric, Ancient, Modern and Contemporary.
The second of the variables explores Astronic history according to the occurrence of authentic events of history, archaeological findings, and known forms of religious expression. This is the most prevalent of the two historiographies and birthed the Primordial, Primitive, Agricultural, Astrological, Age of Inquiry, Waning, and the Cometanic age.
