First Portrait of Cometan

The First Portrait of Cometan is one of the most well-known of the notable images of Cometan and as the name suggests, is the first professional portrait of the founder of Astronism (excluding school portraits). It was designated by the Astronist Institution to be a notable image and as the twenty-fifth one, succeeds Cometan at Lake Bled but precedes Cometan at Tiananmen Square.

This image, whose copyright is currently held by the Millettarian Photographic Institute, was taken on 21st March 2018 at the historic house of Hoghton Tower in Lancashire which is where Cometan worked for over two years.

Cometan was eighteen years of age when this portrait was taken by photographer Thomas de Hoghton, heir to the de Hoghton baronetcy.

This image is distributed by the Institution-owned publisher Photography Lately.
