In Astronist soteriology, extrication is humanity's (or any scoped species) opportunity to potentialise itself through the astronomical world as a means of completing transcension and as a result, achieving salvation. Extrication is based on the concept that in Astronism, humanity not holds the capacity but also the responsibility to save itself rather than relying on something external to humanity thrusting salvific means upon it. The word onus is also commonly used to denote this aspect of Astronist perspectives on the nature of salvation.

Etymology

Extrication literally means freeing from constraint or difficulty and in so in astrosoteriology, the emphasis is placed on humanity conducting this act of salvation for itself.
