Not to be confused with Exotheology, Astrotheology or Astrotheism.
Exotheism is the belief that extraterrestrial beings exist and that they possess insight into theological and philosophical issues beyond the current capacity of humankind. Exotheism is classified as an additional member of the Astronic religious tradition after the four original members: Astronism, Astrology, Astrolatrism, and Archaeoastronism.

Exotheistic beliefs are particularly associated with new space religions and with some UFO religions, the close relationship to the latter of which caused initial hesitation for exotheism to be included as part of the Astronic tradition. The theological discipline dealing with exotheistic ideas and issues is known as exotheology. A person professing to be a follower of exotheism is an exotheist.
