Astronism and Christianity share very little characteristics with one another in the context of their theological, philosophical, and their wider theoretical and conceptual foundations. This has been put down to the residence of Cometan in a majoratively Christian country, the United Kingdom, with Cometan's intention to make Astronism as distinct from the Christian religion as much as possible. However, with deeper study, some similarities in Astronism's structure can also be found in the internal structures of Christianity, such as the development of Astronist versions of soteriology and Christology, which are markedly Christian theological disciplines.

Astronism is a new religious movement belonging to the Astronic religious tradition which traces its history back to the Upper Palaeolithic period of the Stone Age with the emergence of star worship and astromancy. By contrast, Christianity is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion based on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth in 1st century Judea. While Astronism and Christianity share little in common theologically and philosophically, some of the structures of their beliefs do somewhat correspond, example being Astronism's doctrine Economy of Transcension as clearly inspired by the Christian doctrine of the Economy of Salvation.
