Astronism, sometimes also known as the religion of the stars, is the world's youngest and 14th largest religion with over 3.5 million followers as of 2019, or about 0.04% of the global population, known as Astronists. The religion was founded in 2013 by a then fifteen-year old Cometan who had become a prodigy and extensive writer on the topics of religion and philosophy.

From the age of seventeen, Cometan began to compile the increasingly intensive stream of ideas he was receiving into a book called the Omnidoxy. Completed five years later, this book would go on to become a treatise and the founding text of Astronism as well as to become labelled as one of the world's longest books, and certainly the world's longest religious text.

Astronism is the world's first cosmocentric religion or philosophy, meaning that it places all important on astronomical objects, like stars and galaxies, and considers The Cosmos as a whole to be most important in religious belief.

Astronists believe that it is humanity's purpose and destiny to explore space. They believe that space exploration will give humans a feeling of purpose and meaning to their lives. They also believe that through space exploration, humans will improve themselves in different ways, such as mentally, physically, and intellectually. This process is known in Astronism as transcension.

Astronism is a panentheistic or transtheistic Astronic organised philosophy founded by Cometan that is predicated on the notions of cosmocentricity, sentientism, transcensionism, and reascensionism and holds its own unique cosmology with the Omnidoxy as its founding treatise. Its adherents are known by a wide range of demonyms according to the philosophy’s many denominations and schools of thought, but these mainly include Millettarians, Millettics, Astronists, Kosmans, Neocosmists, and Sophists.
