Alingualism[]

əlɪŋɡw(ə)lɪz(ə)m[]

noun[]

an approach to Astronism (and other religions) in which language and discourse (both written and oral) are removed from a person’s religious practices and beliefs, especially manifested in the removal of the authority of texts in favour of focusing on the worship of, contemplation on, or otherwise physical or intellectual interaction with the subject or source of one’s religious faith. In Astronist philosophy, alingualism is considered a product of hypercosmocentrism.

Derivatives[]

  • Alingualist | əlɪŋɡw(ə)lɪst | adjective & noun

Origin and etymology[]

  • Astro-English: from Astronese, the prefix a-, denoting negation, combined with the word -lingual denoting language, and added to this, the suffix -ism, denoting a belief; meaning ‘belief in the removal of language.’
